Type Locality and Naming
Sanya Basin. The Hainan Geological Brigade erected the Lingqiaocun Group in 1985. The section for the designation is in the Lingqiao Village of the Zhanan Town of Sanya City, Hainan.
Lithology and Thickness
The Lingqiaocun Formation is dominated by rhyolite porphyry, dacite porphyry, breccia tuff, crystal tuff and breccia conglomerate. It is more than 5039.67 m thick.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Its base marked by rhyolitic breccia crystal tuff lava shows an eruptive unconformable contact with the underlying Tangtadaling Fm consisting of gravel-bearing crystal tuff lava.
Upper contact
Its top is not observed.
Regional extent
The formation mainly occurs in the Qiaoling Village, Tangtadaling and the Liuluo Village of Sanya City, Hainan Island. (Li Yougui)
